Gunner Croft meets Eadlyn and asks her if he can kiss her, to see if they are compatible. Erik offers his help to her for anything she may need. Eadlyn admits that she didn’t want the Selection in the beginning and she is not in love with anyone yet. They talk about Henri, Eadlyn’s parents and the Selection. In the evening, Eadlyn accidentally meets Erik in the kitchen. Grandmother Singer visits the palace to see America. He admits that he also likes her and he has already designed a summerhouse for her. She refuses, because she can’t kiss him like it’s nothing: he has become very important to her. Kile comforts her and offers to kiss her, if she wants, to forget her problems for a while, saying that he will do anything she wants. I loved the reminder of memories from Americas & Maxons, Selection, it really brought back memories for me as well and it made it so enjoyable! The roles of The Selected were really good! It had a really good dynamic feeling because each of the guys truly had something different to offer to the table for Eadlyn. While Eadlyn just grew up with that mindset, I really felt she was just a little bit too dramatic.

She was so head strong, and full of confidence and power, however like the other characters in the book itself, they realized that she was a little bit TOO confident and full of power. I had super high expectations for this novel, only because The Selection series was so phenom! However, i do and did love reading THIS story, I felt the character was a little bit annoying at times (Eadlyn).
However now, with a certain uprising of horror, and sadness, there is only one thing that will distract the public. In the previous stories, the castes system was terminated, as well as The Selection. However, even though Ahren and Eadlyn are twins, Eadlyn was born just minutes before her twin brother, thus making her the Heir. With Kaden, Osten, Ahren and Eadlyn, their family is as complete as could be. So 20 years have passed after America Singers and Maxon Schreaves selection, and in that twenty years, America and Maxon have managed to grow their love tree into such a beautiful creation.
